SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCES

Whilst most road traffic collisions will be ‘standard’ in terms of the number, location and orientation of vehicles and patients they involve, a small number will provide a more significant challenge. Providing our training is well planned and delivered, we should be well prepared for the vast majority of incidents we face. That said, we should also prepare for those that are more unconventional but foreseeable and those which are most likely to test our knowledge, skills, abilities and equipment. the aim here is to think wider than our usual attendance at a collision involving 2 vehicles where one person is trapped in a car on its wheels. Whilst this statistically is the most likely incident we will attend, we should be prepared to face far more challenging scenarios from a technical, medical and planning perspective. In particular, ICs should prepare themselves for managing more complex incidents. Vehicle Extrication – The NEXT GENERATION considers ‘thinking outside the box’ and urges incident commanders and all agencies to prepare for the unexpected; the incidents that may offer more of a challenge. Vehicle Extrication – The Next Generation is available on www.lukas-store.com or on amazon de (https://www.amazon.de/Vehicle…/dp/3000653066/ref=sr_1_1…)
